1. Acceptance of Terms

By accessing, browsing, or referencing the diagnostic flowcharts, failure catalogs, slicing guides, or documentation on PrintFailure Atlas (the “Platform”), you acknowledge that you have read, understood, and agreed to be legally bound by these Terms of Use.

If you disagree with any portion of these terms, your sole recourse is to discontinue use of the Platform immediately. Your continued engagement with our diagnostic protocols constitutes formal acceptance of all provisions herein.

2. Diagnostic & Educational Scope

PrintFailure Atlas provides informational classification tools designed to help users identify physical additive manufacturing errors (such as layer shifts, stringing, under-extrusion, ringing, and bed adhesion failures) prior to altering slicer parameters.

The Diagnostic Methodology

Our content emphasizes methodical mechanical, thermal, and kinematic checks before software-based compensation. All recommendations reflect general additive manufacturing principles and must be adapted to your specific machine architecture.

We do not guarantee that following an atlas workflow will resolve every print defect, as physical anomalies depend on environmental conditions, filament chemistry variations, and machine wear.

3. Hardware & Slicer Safety Disclaimers

Operating fused filament fabrication (FFF/FDM) and resin (SLA/MSLA) hardware involves inherent risks, including extreme thermal zones, volatile organic compound emissions, electrical components, and mechanical pinch points.

  • Temperature Adjustments: Never exceed material or hotend manufacturer maximum temperature ratings regardless of stringing or extrusion recommendations.
  • Firmware & Electronics: Verifying thermal runaway protection and stepper driver voltage is entirely your responsibility.
  • Ventilation: Always maintain adequate air filtration when processing technical filaments (ABS, ASA, Nylon, Resin).

4. Intellectual Property Rights

All high-resolution diagnostic macro-photography, defect classification taxonomies, structural flowcharts, custom UI designs, and editorial texts published on PrintFailure Atlas are proprietary assets protected under international copyright law.

You are granted a limited, non-exclusive, non-transferable license to view and print pages for personal, educational, and internal technical calibration purposes. You may not:

  • Scrape, duplicate, or mirror our visual defect atlas for commercial aggregation.
  • Incorporate our proprietary macro images into commercial print farm training materials without written consent.
  • Modify, decompile, or frame any platform code or systematic workflow assets.

5. Third-Party Trademarks & Software References

Any mention of third-party software, slicers, hardware manufacturers, or filament brands (including but not limited to PrusaSlicer, Ultimaker Cura, OrcaSlicer, Bambu Studio, Voron Design, Creality, and polymaker polymers) is strictly for nominative identification and educational review.

6. Warranty Disclaimers

The Platform and its diagnostic content are provided on an “AS IS” and “AS AVAILABLE” basis without warranties of any kind, whether express, implied, statutory, or otherwise.

We expressly disclaim all warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular manufacturing purpose, non-infringement, and precision accuracy of slicer profile parameters. Users assume full operational risk for adjustments executed on their fabrication systems.

7. Limitation of Liability

In no event shall PrintFailure Atlas, its authors, editors, or contributors be held liable for direct, indirect, incidental, punitive, or consequential damages resulting from:

  • Failed 3D prints, wasted filament, nozzle clogs, or hotend heat-creep damage.
  • Thermal runaway events, heated bed fires, or electrical shorts resulting from improper hardware manipulation.
  • Errors or omissions in our diagnostic matrix and troubleshooting taxonomy.
  • Loss of revenue, business interruption, or machine downtime in commercial production environments.

8. Revisions & Policy Updates

We reserve the right to revise, amend, or restructure these Terms of Use at any time to reflect new technical failure documentation, slicer releases, or legal standards. Updated terms will be posted with an updated “Effective Date”.
