Privacy Policy & Data Governance

This Privacy Policy outlines how PrintFailure Atlas collects, utilizes, and protects diagnostic inputs, telemetry, and visitor information when you consult our print failure classifications, slicer workflow guides, and diagnostic matrices.

Effective: August 24, 2026Standard: GDPR & CCPA Compliant Reference

1. Information We Collect

When you navigate PrintFailure Atlas, we collect information designed to provide accurate diagnostic references and improve the structural cataloging of additive manufacturing anomalies. We classify collected information into two distinct categories:

  • Voluntarily Submitted Information: Details you provide via our inquiry forms on Contact Us, defect submission summaries, print parameters (e.g., nozzle temperature, layer height), and descriptive feedback.
  • Automated Device & Diagnostic Telemetry: Anonymized browser metadata, screen resolution, referral URLs, approximate geographic location, and interaction logs with the Defect Atlas and Troubleshooting modules.

2. How We Use Your Information

We adhere to a strict purpose-limitation doctrine. Collected data is processed strictly to:

Taxonomy Refinement

Refine failure classification algorithms and diagnostic trees across resin and FDM protocols.

Slicer Guideline Accuracy

Update slicer-specific workflows such as our PrusaSlicer Review.

We do not sell, rent, or trade your personally identifiable information or proprietary 3D manufacturing data to third-party advertisers or data brokers under any circumstances.

3. Diagnostic Files & G-Code Telemetry

PrintFailure Atlas is an educational diagnostic atlas. We do not store or execute arbitrary binary G-code files or proprietary CAD geometry on server infrastructure. Any slicing profile configurations or parameter references referenced in our Materials guide are processed client-side within your browser session.

If you submit voluntary calibration photographs for community failure cataloging, you retain all intellectual property rights while granting PrintFailure Atlas a non-exclusive license to use the anonymized visual defect crop for educational reference purposes.

4. Cookies & Local Storage

Our application uses minimal, privacy-focused persistent cookies and client-side LocalStorage objects to retain your diagnostic preferences:

Storage TypePurposeDuration
pfa_diag_filterSaves active failure filter state on the Atlas grid.Session / 30 Days
pfa_theme_prefStores reader contrast and visual layout preferences.1 Year
_pfa_telemetryAggregates anonymous view counts across defect profiles.90 Days

5. Third-Party Service Providers

We engage trusted third-party technical vendors for content delivery network (CDN) caching, server uptime monitoring, and cryptographic SSL encryption. These infrastructure partners only handle data necessary to deliver static assets efficiently under strict data protection agreements.

For additional details regarding equipment manufacturer associations, consult our Brand Support and technical documentation index.

6. Your Privacy Rights & Choices

Under applicable privacy legislation (including European GDPR and California CCPA/CPRA), you retain the following enforceable rights concerning your personal records:

  • Right to Access: Request a copy of all diagnostic records or feedback logs associated with your email identifier.
  • Right to Erasure: Instruct our team to purge submitted diagnostic images or contact inquiries.
  • Right to Rectification: Correct inaccurate technical submission details or hardware descriptors.

To exercise any of these privileges, submit a formal request through our Contact Us interface. Requests are verified and fulfilled within 30 business days at zero administrative cost.

7. Contact & Regulatory Inquiries

If you possess inquiries regarding our data handling principles or wish to appeal a data governance decision, please communicate directly with our Data Protection Officer:
